Kellen's antics

This child is into everything! He goes nonstop from morning till nap, then till second nap, then till bedtime. He just cruises around the house. He crawls into closets, under the coffee table, under our bed, behind our bed (which I can't get him out of so I have to wait until he is bored and come out on his own). He puts everything in his mouth, especially cords to eletrical devices. He is always up in Connor's business, toppling his toys over and grabbing his prized cars, and all this is done with that adorable Kellen smile. This boy loves him some good ole bath fun too. He lives for the bath. As soon as he hears the water turn on, he drops whatever he is doing and beelines for the bathroom and attempts to crawl in the tub, clothes and all. I love the picture below because his knees are so red from all the crawling.

Waiting for the tub to fill with water.

Doing the waiting dance.

Okay, Kellen destroys this miscellaneous cabinet of bowls/bottles/tupperware at least 5 times a day!

Alexis Makenna Piacitelli's Baptism

We are so blessed to be the godparents of Lexi Piacitelli! We drove up and spent the weekend with Steve and Dawn so we could be there for her special day! We love this family! Everytime we head up north to hang out with them we have a great time. However, Don and I almost did not survive the trip up this time. We left Portland around 1230ish and did not make it to their house in Renton until around 730pm. Traffic. I don't think I have to explain this one. Although Don did compair it to what his vision of hell is. Stuck in traffic with two hungry kiddos with poopy diapers who have not napped and you have no more food because you did not expect to be in the car for 6 hours and ate everything already and the nearest exit is 2 miles away but you have only moved 10 yards in the last half hour kind of hell. But Steve and Dawn are the kind of friends who had dinner waiting (literally on the table) and we were greeted in the driveway with 2 stiff drinks. Stiff enough to erase some of the pain of the last few hours of the car ride. But we would have done it again just to be there for sweet Lexie on her day. And she is a blessed and beautiful little girl!

Steve is Connor's godfather.

Lexie Loo!
Lexie and Kellen chillin'. This picture cracks me up because that is such a Kellen blank look. I think all of his pictures have this same look. Really, he is a happy child, just camera shy.

Welcome to the family Erika!

That beautiful girl presenting my brother with a birthday cake is my future sister-in-law! We couldn't be more thrilled for these two! My brother the romatic proposed to her on the Brooklyn Bridge in NY on May 29th! She fits in perfectly to our crazy family, almost as if she was here from the beginning! The wedding will be in March and I can hardly wait! We were all over at their cute house in North Portland for a summer bbq. It was also Michael's birthday. They worked their tails off fixing up the yard. It is awesome. The landscaped it and last summer they completed a huge project of transforming the freestanding garage into a sectioned off unit. One side is storage for the BBQ and lawmower ect, the other end is more storage and in the middle is the party room! Complete with a kegorator. The painted the outside to make it look like a barn and it is so cute. Of course, I have no pictures of it. It was a fabulous evening with the family but our que to leave was during the happy birthday cake presentation, Connor kicked over some neatly lined up shot glasses of whisky, and Kellen simultaneously peed all over me. Yes, it was time for the sissy with kiddos to leave so the older kids could play!

Kick off to Summer BBQ at the Curdys!

I am so looking forward to summer! Warm weather, splash parks, staying light later, hanging out on the back patio, hikes, berry picking, etc. I am so ready. I am ready for my boys to play outside, ride the trike and push the push toys. I am so looking forward to Kellen's birthday, Ashley's wedding and possibly getting some color on this white Irish skin. This evening we went to a BBQ at our good friends the Curdys! They know how to throw a party! They have a beautiful home and a massive backyard filled with everything a little kid could ever ask for! It felt like the perfect kick off to summer. An evening filled with good food, superb drinks, happy kids playing, fudgesicles, and delightful friends. Connor and friends waiting patiently for his fudgecicle!

Can't believe all these kids sat still long enough for this picture.

Connor takes a bath himself..Whoops.

Tonight was one of those nights where Don and I were trying to power through the bedtime routine superfast so we can begin our "unwind" as soon as humanly possible. So while Don was cleaning up after dinner I was getting Kellen in and out of the tub. While I was bathing Connor I told him to start getting ready for his bath. Now he can't undress himself so I don't know why I was asking him to, or what I actually expected of him. It's not like he was going to take off his clothes and diapers and wait patiently while I got his bath water ready. But I asked him to anyhow. And while he was attempting and failing miserably (as evident by his cries and shrieks from the other room) I was in such go go mommy mode that I was tuning them out while I dried, lotioned, powdered and pajamaed up little Kellen. I brought Kellen out to Don for his last feeding. Then I turned to Don and said, "Where is Connor, he was crying just a minute ago because he wanted to get in the tub!" Then I heard splish splash and some giggles. "Oh no!!" I ran down the hall and there was Connor splashing about in Kellen's bath water, with all his clothes on! "Hi mommy, I in bath!" Was all he could say to me. Okay, I know what most of you are thinking.... Connor getting in the tub with water unsupervised = not good. However, lessons learned, thankfully not the hard way this time. I didn't realize Don had run to grab the camera otherwise I would have left Connor in longer for the photo op...So these pictures are taken after I took of his shirt and was starting to take off his pants.

Mother's Day!

May has been a blur thus far. I haven't really taken my camera out until now. Today was Mother's day! And we couldn't have asked for better weather! It was truly glorious. After mass Don the boys and I headed down to Portland and went to St. Honerie (a yummy french bakery on Thurman and 24th). The line was out the door but it didn't take long for us to get up to the counter. At one point during the waiting though, Connor announced very loudly that he wanted Starbucks...Don't mess with this kid and his Sunday morning Starbucks! After we retrieved out goodies we went to Washington Park and found a pleasant shady spot right by the playground. We spread out our blankets and it wasn't long before we ran into our dear friends the Eynards who had the same exact idea as us. We were going to wander up to the rose garden but after playing with the Eynards we realized it was getting close to nap time for the boys so we packed up and started making the trek back to the 'wood. Once home we put the boys down and then Don gave me the best gift ever - a nap of my own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I slept for 3.5 glorious hours!!!! Thank you honey, if you only knew how much that nap meant to me!!!!!!
I spent the yesterday at a Mother's Day Luncheon at our church with my mommy dearest, my sister Sarah and dear friends and their daughters. The lunch is an annual thing that I always look forward too (last year I had to work!).

A day in the life of two adorable boys!

What are you up to Kellen? Why that look?

Oh, I see why that look. Your big brother is playing basketball in fireman galoshes and no diaper. hmmm...
Kellen follows Connor around everywhere. Here he goes.
And around the corner he goes.

Potty training is interesting so far. More into the toilet paper than anything else!

This crib has teeth marks all over it. Our little chomper uses it as a teether. Along with our coffee table, chairs and just about anything else he can get his little gums on. I was telling this to my mom over the phone and she chuckled and said, "Well I am in my room staring at little teeth marks on my dresser from a certain little girl who also liked to teeth on furniture.." :)

That's my little dude. Check out that dangler from the nostril. CLASSIC!
