Feed Me!

This is what Kellen does about 12 hours during the day, and luckily only once in the night. He eats his fist as a kindly, yet subtle reminder that I must feed him, again. This guy is my hungry hungry hippo. So very different from Connor who I fed every 4 hours on the dot!

A Day at the Park, with Gelatto Too!

Don is doing a lot of traveling this month. So in between his trip to the midwest and his trip to Spain, we spent a day at the park! We soaked up the last bit of sunny weather here in Portland. We ate, and of course Connor had to have his soccer ball and kicked it all around the park. Kellen, of course, slept most the time. After we were done at the park we hopped on down to NW 23rd for some yellow birthday cake, hazelnut and chocolate gelatto! Our favorite. Connor and I shared but you can guess who ate most of it.... Our little chocolate theif!

He ain't heavy, He's my brother.....

In the morning, usually before we eat breakfast, Connor, Kellen and I head out for just a wee walk. I let Connor decide the route (I give him a little guidance) and we are off. I love it because the crisp morning air is so wonderful - puts the three of us in a really good mood. Connor especially loves it because he gets to see the school bus go by! The school bus driver always waves at him and Connor just stares at her in amazement, and then as soon as she is out of site, he waves like crazy!! Its a crack up! Fridays are a real bonus because then we get to see the school bus and the garbage truck!

This is what I hate about our morning walks - the plums!! Ewww. The trees are gorgeous in the spring, and just a mess in the fall.

Another one of Connor's favorite things to do is sit ont he front porch. He does it every day and he will just watch the neighbors go by and say hi and wave. He really loves when the boys across the street are out playing catch. He just watches them so intently.

Brothers!

Kellen is growing so fast! He is hardly a newborn anymore. So today when I had him on his rainforest activity gym and Connor crawled onto the gym with him, I really saw how old he is getting. It won't be long until they are playing together, running around after Murphy together, and of course, probably fighting... But I just adore my two boys and all they have in store for Don and I...

Two Year Molars on their Way!

Connor is an early teether. He had about 6 by 6 months and 12+ at a year. He is now getting his 2 year molars and let me just tell you, teething is no fun!!! This poor child with his running clear nose keeps chomping on his fingers as a teether. I just look at him sometimes and he looks so miserable as he chomps away on his fingers! Today in particular was a rough day. These pics are from when I came in and found him after his nap.

A River Runs Through It

Connor standing at the bank of the Metolius River

We were very fortunate to spend the labor day weekend with my sister Sarah and her family. Her hubby Matt has a family cabin in Camp Sherman on the banks of the Metolius River - one of the most beautiful places on earth. I have spent many a college and post college weekend partying it up at this cabin with Matt's little sister and my best friend from UP Mary! I just love this place. Don and I would love to come to Camp Sherman every year and are actually thinking about renting a cabin here for one week each summer. I would love for my boys to grow up fly fishing on this river. Connor had a great time running around the woods with his cousins and even enjoyed his first trip to the "Rock Fort" - a Mattecheck childhood favorite spot. Connor did not however, like sleeping in the cabin. The first two nights involved a lot of crying, screaming, rocking, reading, binky tossing (Connor) and cocktail drinking (adults) to get the lovable monster to sleep. By the third night Don and Matt headed out to the campfire for "guy" time while Sarah and I were left to deal with the sleeping monster. Fortunetly, he went down without much complaint. I guess when they are tired enough...
Sarah and I were able to get away for a little sister time in none other than the town of Sisters! I love that town and I love eating lunch at Depot Deli! We shopped for a bit (Sarah purchased the most adorable sweater top) and I purchased a pumpkin (a little more fitting for my point in life). Other than the down pour we encountered, we had a great time! The only thing missing was our other half, our 3rd muskateer, our last pea in our sisterly pod - Jeannie. But we had a great time talking about her.... JUST Kidding Beans. Thanks Mattechecks for a perfect Labor Day weekend! To see more pics, click on the slideshow. Warning, there are many...
