Today we had a family birthday party for both Connor and Rachel to celebrate their close birthdays. We had a great time enjoying pizza, beer, wine and Elmo cupcakes of course!

Elmo cupcakes that did not really resemble Elmo....

Happy Birthday Connor!

Happy birthday to my darling little boy. I can't believe that two years ago we welcomed you into this world! Our little angel! What a gift to us you are! Each day brings something new! We love how you smile and laugh! We love how you throw your little arms in the air and say "where did it go" everytime you can't find something. We love how you run to the window to see the garbage trucks and school buses go by in the morning, and how you love to watch your elmo videos. When we put one on you can't contain yourself. You have to circle the living room at least twice screaming "ELMO" before you settle in to watch it! You have grown so much. You sleep in a toddler bed now, in a new room so Kellen can have your nursery. You love to have your binky and blanket at bedtime - two things you have let us know that you can not live without! When you see a food you like you get all excited and say "MMMMMMMMMM" at the top of your lungs! Yes, you know what you like! We love how you love Murphy so much - your best friend. And while you are still intrigued with your baby brother, you are usually so gentle with him and you love to give him kisses on his head and hold him in your lap! Your daddy and I are so excited to see you grow and change. You bring us so much joy!
I had to work a little on your birthday which made me sad but Stacy and Simon came to play and brought you a grand present - an easle! YOU LOVE IT. And so do I. Later that night both Nonnie and Pompa and Maimo came for dinner and Maimo brought you icecream cake!!!!! What a day!!!!!!

Night Walk

Today was one of those rare NW winter nights when it is not cloudy, not raining, sun is shining and it is about 59 degrees or so. Perfect opportunity to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE before the next rain comes. So that is what we did! Kellen is big enough and strong enough now that he can sit in the back of the Phil&Ted. It is so great to have them both in the stroller. We walked with Murphy around the block and then when Don came home we went for a longer walk. It is amazing what some fresh air will do for you in the long winter months.

Krazy Kellen! He loves the jumperoo just like his big brother did!!!

Kellen is a Half!!

How did my baby grow up so fast?? No fair!!
Kellen, you are our little "beefcake" as daddy so affectionately named you. Our sweet potato, our darling little Kells. You have brought us so much love and joy in these last 6 months! From the minute you came home from the hospital you have given us nothing but smiles, laughs and coos, oh and lots of poop too! But we love it all! You may look like your big bro, but yet you are so different. Your daddy and I love watching your little personality emerge everyday. You are so a people person! The minute someone makes eye contact with you, you erupt into smiles and laughs. You reach for faces and study them so intently! Your favorite place to be is snuggled up in our bed, tucked between daddy and I. At this rate, I don't think you will ever make it to your crib, but I don't mind! I love snuggling with you at night too! Our special time together. You me and dad have our little bedtime routine. We get you in your jammies, make you some warm milk, then the three of us crawl into the warm bed and watch Jay Leno! After your milk you usually laugh and giggle while reaching for dad! I love it. Then your little eyes drift off to sleep. Of course, they pop back open several time through the night, but that is okay too. We are use to it! One of these days you will sleep through the night and I may actually miss our midnight rendezvous! Connor adores you as well. Most of the time. He loves to hold you and give you kisses, and he always replaces your binky, whether you want it or not! It won't be long before you two are off and running - my precious boys. I really hope these next 6 months slow down a bit, because I will be so sad the day you turn one! Sad because you grow up too fast. But I also can't wait to see the little man you will become! Full of goodness and love! I love you sweet baby Kells!

Bathtime is so much more fun in a jacuzzi tub with the cousins!

So while we were all down in Sunriver, I forgot to mention that we all had pink eye! Yes, one by one we all fell. Kellen, Joey and I already had it prior to the trip, but on the way down both Connor and Tommy developed symptoms. The day after New Years Sarah had pink eye, and the later that night it was Don's turn. The only non-victims were Matt and Rachel. So the eye drops and ointment were a flowing right along with the beer and wine.

New Years day we all went for a walk/snowball fight outing. The kids loved lugging snowballs at us older folk. Poor little Rachel burst out in tears when Matt tackled Sarah. She didn't quite understand the playfulness of it all. The walk ended in a snowman making contest. Mattechecks vs. Corcorans. While the Mattechecks may have been more aesthetically pleasing, the Corcorans snowman was the last one standing. The weekend was so wonderful and relaxing despite the pink eye outbreak. The kids played well together and slept well, the boys got out to watch football and snowmobile and Sarah and I made it into Bend for a movie and shopping! A great way to start off 2010, again, despite the pink eye....
