BIRDS!!!!

Connor loves it when he hears birds chirping outside. Usually we are having breafast in the dining room and he will here the birds. He always stops eating, gasps, talks excitedly in Connor language and points outside. This goes on all during breakfast, which is why our breakfasts can take close to an hour. Anyways, this afternoon we were out on the back deck when we were overtaken with birds from every direction. Connor couldn't contain himself as he literally spun in circles trying to find the chirping birds!!!!!

Happy Father's Day!

Connor is a very lucky boy to have a father who loves him as much as Don does! Some people say you will love a man more when you see him as the father of your children. I always thought that was a bologna because I was so in love with Don when I married him, I couldn't imagine there was a higher level of love out there. Then came Connor. Seeing him with our son melts my heart over and over again on a daily basis. He loves that little boy so much. And Connor adores his daddy. When Don walks through that door Connor runs to greet him and I know it is the highlight of Don's day (and seeing the wifey too, I hope...). This little guy in utero has no idea how lucky he is to have scored a daddy like Don! Soon he will know (hopefully sooner than later..) I love you honey! Happy Father's Day!

Connor's first Hair Cut!

We took Connor to get his first hair cut today and boy was it over due. Don and I were just so reluctant to get his little curls cut off! But man did he have the shaggy look going on so something had to be done! We took him over to Little Clippers in Lake O where he can sit in the fun little race cars. Overall, Connor did great. There were a few tense moments, but he he pulled through with minimal tears. Don and I on the other hand, cannot believe our little baby boy looks so old now! He is definitely a toddler.... Oh, how sad. It was so hard to see those luscious curly locks fall to the ground.... Just getting started...

Hmmm, getting a little tense as the clippers get close to his ears.

Connor liking the finished product, but likes his part on the other side, so he is fixing it...

Our little toddler. Really looks like daddy now!!

Onchi and Eric's Wedding!

Allison and Eric got married last night! The setting was Youngberg Hills Winery just outside of McMinnville and it was spectacular! The views were stunning. The perfect place for these two to get married. The ceremony was so beautiful and touching. They are an amazing couple and I am so happy for them. Allison and I are college friends from Univeristy of Portland and I met Eric when Tasha, another UP friend, went to medical school at OHSU. The two ended up dating after they sat next to eachother at a dinner when Tasha and her hubby Jason came to town. (There is actually more to it than that, but that is the basic story...) It is so wonderful to attend a wedding when you know both the groom and bride so well and know how happy and wonderful their new life together will be! Stacy our rockstar nanny had Connor so Don and I had a stress free evening with our college friends. It was so great to cut loose (well, Don did, I just enjoyed everyone else cutting lose). I was so sad to see the evening end. I normally would have started the post wedding blues, but another dear college friend Frisch (Ashley) just became engaged to a friend of mine from high school in SLC, Anthony! (A joining of two worlds for me - high school and college). So now we all have another beautiful wedding to look forward too!!!!!

The setting - before the big walk down the aisle.
The cake cutting!! And it was delicious!!!!
The college girls - Mary D, Tasha, Jen, Frisch, Bower (Erin) and Tara. Missing is Maris....off getting wine I think...Oh and Allison too.

The first dance....

Splash Park!!!

We spent this morning at Tanner Creek Park in West Linn with my friend Stefanie Mallory and her darling kids James and Madeline. It was sooo much fun. The kids had a blast running through the low pressure fountains and playing at the playground afterwards. Then we had a little picnic lunch. However, Connor was way more interested in the chips the Mallory's were eating than his own lunch. Go figure. After the park we met Don at Panera for an adult lunch. Connor had fallen asleep right before we got to Panera. Don carried him into the restaurant thinking he would wake up and he never did! He slept in Don's arms the entire lunch! But right before we were getting ready to leave, his eyes popped open! He let out a little yelp, looked around, eyed his daddy's chips and immediatly snatched one up and started eating! What can I say, he is just like his cousin Joey. He is the "chip guy"!
Madeline and Connor sharing snacks on the bench! They are only a
week apart! Future prom date??????

Tommy Mattecheck Graduates!!!

Little Tommy taco graduated from preschool today! I can't believe how old he is getting. I remember so well the night he was born! We waited soooo long for him (he took his own sweet time). And now he is in a cap and gown! He attended Jake's Place Christian Preschool and thrived! He loved Teacher Patty and learned so much! He is so kind to all of his friends he made there! It is amazing to see how his confidence has grown since his first year with Teacher Patty! Next year on to kindergarten for this little guy!

Splashin' in my new Pool!

Check out my new pool guys! My mommy and daddy got it for me at the store today! It is so cool. It has this cool canopy that makes one side shady and one side sunny! As my daddy would say, "It is the c-c-c-oooooolest!" I love splashing all around and playing with my bucket and beach ball. I think one of these days I may even try and stick my head under water! I can't wait for later in the summer when my cousins and friends can come and play in my pool. It is kind of lonely right now... Maybe Murphy will come in with me!
